Our purpose
Visibility is the beginning. Connection is what makes it matter.
Queerly is an independent LGBTQIA+ community and media platform created in Switzerland by István “Steve” Könyves and Seyit Ibili, in collaboration with Studio Eight Agency.
Queerly began with an honest conversation between Steve and Seyit about the difficulties of being gay: hostility from outside our community and the hurt we sometimes cause one another. We wanted more kindness, solidarity and willingness to work together.
That conversation became a shared purpose - to create a welcoming space where people connect around respect and help make queer life safer. Our starting point was our experience as gay men; our vision embraces the full LGBTQIA+ community and allies in Switzerland and beyond.
Queerly is a passion-driven, independent initiative. Through stories and conversations, we make room for people to speak for themselves. No single story represents our whole community.
The people behind Queerly
Two co-creators. One shared commitment.
István “Steve” Könyves
Community · Connection
Originally from Hungary and now living in Switzerland, Steve understands the search for belonging and building community in a new country. Those experiences strengthened his belief in openness and spaces where people can be themselves.
He brings a passion for listening, authentic communication and community building. Meeting people, hearing their experiences and opening doors for stories that might otherwise go unheard are at the heart of his contribution to Queerly.
Seyit Ibili
Creativity · Storytelling
With Turkish roots, Seyit understands how cultural and social expectations can shape the experience of living openly. He values spaces where LGBTQIA+ people can express themselves and connect without hiding who they are.
As the owner of Studio Eight Agency, he brings creative direction, branding, communication and content development. His contribution helps turn your stories and our shared ideas into thoughtful visuals and meaningful content.
Steve and Seyit guide Queerly together. Studio Eight Agency contributes creative direction and storytelling to the shared project.

The little hearts behind Queerly
Every community needs a little warmth.
Building Queerly involves big ideas, many conversations and more time in front of a screen than we planned. Frida and Minosh are our mascots and emotional support team, making the hard days softer and the good days sweeter.
They are very much part of Queerly. They remind us that belonging should feel welcoming, safe and full of heart.

Frida
She has a gift for bringing us back to the present. No matter how long the to-do list gets, she reminds us to take a break, share a little affection and find something to smile about. She brings a warmth to our days that we hope people feel when they arrive at Queerly.

Minosh
She makes sure there is room for calm, too. She keeps us company in her own way, turning ordinary pauses into moments of comfort. When we need to breathe and gather our thoughts, her presence reminds us that rest and care are part of building something meaningful.
Help us shape what comes next.
Bring your story, your perspective or an idea for a collaboration. We would love to hear from you.
